Today I had the subject Data Communication at school (Read: Cisco Network Academy).
My class (30 students) was split into 2 groups, the first get theory on Wednesday and labs on Thursday and the second group labs on Wednesday and theory on Thursday, I belongs to the second one.
The thing is, the labs itself and… the teacher…
The tasks we got where things like:
change IP address, and then ping each other
change hostname, etc.
Since we use our own laptops, I don’t realy like to mess with hostnames and prefer the one I gave to it at installation time. With IP addresses we had to use the Class C lan network range (192.168.0.0/24), the only thing is, for an another subject, Windows Server 2008, I and my classmate chose to use the Class A lan network range (10.0.0.0/8).
We though, well IP settings are IP settings, and we are currently busy with win2k8, why not use that range…
Guess what!
The teacher didn’t approve with it -_-‘
“it will become harder and harder, if you don’t stick with the instructions it will be a mess!”
Sorry but, I’ve allready my Cisco CCNA Discovery 1 certificate!
o well, I hope it will be better next week.
Yours truly
